A Cell Press partner journal
See the unseen. Change the unchanged.
The Innovation ¡ª published by Cell Press in partnership with members of the Youth
Innovation Promotion Association (YIPA),a part of the Chinese Academy of
Sciences¡ªis a new broad-scope, open access journal publishing basic and applied
research that has impact for the benefit of society.
On the cover: On the cover: Vivid life is everywhere in this blue planet. In this cover, four seasons are illustrated with diverse lives that are the traces of entire ecosystem circle. What a natural harmony! From birth to death, each species has its own life cycle and innate mechanisms decoded and to be decoded by scientists. The destiny of life cycle can be revealed by genome within a cell as the core of living beings. The more scientific discoveries about the core, the higher possibilities to disclose the truth of life. For sustainable development of our planet, it is important to build up one co-existing ecosystem for all living things.

Graphical abstract

Precise and high-resolution carbon dioxide (CO2) emission data is of great importance in achieving carbon neutrality around the world. Here we present for the first time the near-real-time Global Gridded Daily CO2 Emissions Dataset (GRACED) from fossil fuel and cement production with a global spatial resolution of 0.1¡ã by 0.1¡ã and a temporal resolution of 1 day. Gridded fossil emissions are computed for different sectors based on the daily national CO2 emissions from near-real-time dataset (Carbon Monitor), the spatial patterns of point source emission dataset Global Energy Infrastructure Emissions Database (GID), Emission Database for Global Atmospheric Research (EDGAR), and spatiotemporal patters of satellite nitrogen dioxide (NO2) retrievals.
