  • Neural electrode is the most direct part of brain computer interface technology to link the carbon based brain and silicon based computer. Here, we briefly reviewed the development history of neural electrode technology, and then presented our views on its prospects for the future. How to decipher the logic code of neural circuits and apply it to the electronic design is a most crucial biophysics topic for scientists in the long term, and ideas on two types of future neural electrode in the relatively short term are also delivered to our fellows around the world.
