Construction of Hefei advanced light facility begins

On September 20, 2023, the commencement ceremony for the Hefei Advanced Light Facility (HALF) was held in Hefei. The event was hosted by the National Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). HALF is a cutting-edge fourth-generation synchrotron radiation light source in the low-energy region, which is located in Gangji Town, Changfeng, within the Future Science City of Hefei. As one of the national large research infrastructures, HALF is financially supported by both the central government of China and Anhui Province.
