Smell of the sea on a not-so-faraway planet?

On September 12, 2023, exciting news appeared in arXiv about the detection of carbon-bearing molecules on a possible Hycean planet named K2-18b1. I was at an offline meeting when my colleagues showed screenshots of the relevant news in several WeChat groups that I am involved in. After taking a quick glance at the spectra and their conclusion, I thought, “Wow! He (Prof. Madhusudhan Nikku from Cambridge) took the first step toward finding what he predicted in advance!”
