Analysis of Sichuan wildfire based on the first synergetic observation from three payloads of SDGSAT-1

Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (hereafter referred to as Ganzi), Sichuan Province, China, is situated at the southeastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, adjacent to the Sichuan Basin. The region has a high-elevation mountainous terrain covered by dense forests. On March 15, 2024, a wildfire broke out in Ganzi due to hot work. The situation worsened significantly by March 16, exacerbated by strong winds. According to news reports, the wildfire affected over 3,000 civilians in more than 800 households across 11 villages and one community. Two major clusters of wildfires were identified in Yajing County and Kangding County of Ganzi (Figures 1A1 and 1B1). By March 28, the wildfires were fully extinguished.
